Our Mission & Values
OUR MISSION
Ashburn exists to help people find NEW LIFE in Jesus.
What does it mean to find new life in Jesus? It means that God loves you right where you are, but He loves you too much to leave you where you are. Following Jesus means embracing a life of surrender to Him. It means that there’s always a NEXT STEP in your journey of faith. At Ashburn, we are dedicated to help you identify and take your next step in the safety and freedom of community.
KNOW GOD
You were created to know God relationally. This is more than head knowledge. The cross show us the infinite lengths God is willing to go to have a close, intimate relationship with us. Following Jesus means knowing and being known by a God who made us and loves us.
GROW IN FAITH
To follow Jesus means becoming more like Him. Your salvation is secure the moment you accept Jesus as your savior, but spiritual maturity is a journey that doesn’t happen alone. Becoming more like Jesus means letting go of your past and growing in faith surrounded by a loving community. Our Growth Tracks are designed to help you become rooted and grounded in your faith. Small Groups are the ideal place to develop meaningful relationships and help you apply the Bible to your life through fellowship, study, prayer and discussion of God’s Word. We have four quarter throughout each year to give easy on-ramps for you to connect to community. Our kids’ and students also have small groups that are grade and gender specific.
GO & MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Finally, following Jesus means going out into our world, loving our neighbor, and making a difference. We find great joy in giving generously, praying boldly, serving consistently and helping other people start their journey of faith also.
At Ashburn, we are all on this journey of faith together. We are a living community of faith. Not a building. Not a weekly meeting. A community. We invite you to come be a part.
OUR VALUES
Jesus is our message.
New life can only be found in Jesus Christ, therefore Jesus is our message. We are Jesus people, not religious people. Methods come and go, but our message, the Gospel, remains the same.
People are our heart.
God loves all people unconditionally. Jesus was willing to reach the broken and bring them home at all costs. Our mission is a reflection of the heart of God.
Becoming like Jesus is our aim.
Jesus’ desire is for every person to be transformed into His likeness. Intentional discipleship is our process to move the believer toward spiritual maturity and equip them to engage in our Gospel mission.
Servant leadership is our identity.
Jesus taught us to serve. Every leader is a servant first. From the parking lot to the pulpit, everyone serves with equal value to our Gospel mission. If you’re too big to serve, you’re too small to lead.
Authenticity is our desire.
We are all sinners saved by the grace of God, therefore we make no pretense. We all need Jesus and are on this journey together. We pray together. We cry together. We laugh together. We celebrate together.
Generosity is our privilege.
Generosity is about giving more than what is required. We see generosity as a privilege. We’re generous with our time, talents and treasure. We go first in our giving. God has given richly towards us. It’s our honor to give back to Him.
Excellence is our spirit.
We are going to always do the best with what we have. We’re on time, engaged and prepared. We don’t do things half way. If we’re going to do it, it’s to the best of our ability.
Honor is our calling.
We honor one another. We choose joyfully to submit to the leadership of those God has placed over us, and we honor and care for those God has placed under us.
Passion is our pursuit.
Everything we do, we do with passion. From our worship to our service, we do it with Holy Spirit energy. Passion drives us. Passion for Jesus. Passion for people. Passion for His Church.
Simplicity is our model.
Busier is not better. Programs and busyness are not the goal; spiritual transformation is. That’s why every program reflects the mission of our church.
